It was not the little gold man that all of last nights winners went home with that was the most interesting part of the Oscars. It was the pregnant stars.

And host Jon Stewart reminded us of it a number of times that there were at least three of them present.

In the audience was Jessica Alba. Presenting were very pregnant Cate Clanchett, and also Nicole Kidman who was showing her petite baby bump for the first time.

At one point Jon Stewart came out and said, and now, we have a special award for all the pregnant stars in the house. Camera's flashed on Jessica Alba, Cate Blanchett and a photo of Nicole Kidman.

He takes out and envelope and says: And the baby goes to ... Angelina Jolie!

He then joked that she could not be there to collect it because "we know how hard it is to get 17 baby sitters on Oscar night."
