"Sexiest Man" George Clooney Ready To Wed In Las Vegas ...

When is the wedding? Any time you can head over to that special little chapel on the strip that is known for its, um, waxy build up.
While the folks as the famous wax museum might have canceled the mock nuptials between Clooney pal Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (where Mr. C was set to serve as best man) they still offer the "Marry Clooney" Experience.
It is a feature unique to Las Vegas, where, it would appear, the impulse to get hitched and get people hitched is an irresitable force. The allure is so strong that many celebrities find themselves, or their wax figures, saying "I Do."
I happened to stumble on to "Marry Clooney" yesterday morning and, low and behold, by the afternoon People Magazine had announced their selection of Mr. Clooney, 45, as Sexiest Man of 2006, making him a two-time winner of that title. (As if we needed People to tell us that!)
In the world of Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, any girl (or guy, I guess) who has ever dreamed of getting hitched to Hollywood's hottest bachelor can do so now ... all for the price of $24 admission.
Oy, and what a catch he is! Here's why:
Beyond his good looks and approachability, he has a great reputation among his peers and has also become an activist in his older age. Last spring he visited Chad and Sudan along with his father, journalist Nick Clooney, with the intention of using his star power to stir up concern for the humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of the Sudan.
He followed up by joining Republican Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas and Democrat Barack Obama, on Captial Hill to appeal for greater action to address genocide in Darfur.
"What we cannot do is turn our heads and look away and hope that this will somehow disappear," Clooney said, in that Clooney voice. He used his swoon-power to bring attention to a catastrophic situation, and showed a side of himself that transcends Hollywood.
On top of his new found popularity in Washington, and his world-wide appeal, Clooney is a perennial Las Vegas favorite. Think Deano, Frank ... Clooney.
Following in the footsteps of the Rat Packers, he headed the all star cast of Ocean's 11 and 12. Ocean's 13 will be out next year and you can see him and his crew of lovable crooks pull off their next Las Vegas heist capper.
But back to the wedding.
Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, located at the Venetian, has their own little "authentic Vegas wedding chapel environment" (just for these "unique" celebrity weddings) and that is where you and Clooney can meet your destiny. Or at least have your photo taken!
He will wear a tux and you will slip into proper wedding attire. Then he will await his "bride" at the end of the aisle.
They advertise it as: "No Pre-Nup! No Inhibitions! No Stopping you! At Madame Tussauds, you can live out your own celebrity wedding fantasy and say “I Do!” to Hollywood’s most unobtainable bachelor."
I have to tell you, the George figure bears a resemblance to him but also has a little bit of a Dean Martin vibe. What the heck, every-body-needs-some-body-some-time.
The Worlds Sexiest Man awaits, if only for a moment of frolic and fantasy. Seems like some light-hearted fun.
Unless, of course, you have come to Las Vegas for your wedding to someone else, like your fiancé. If this is the case, leave the "Marry Clooney" Experience for your bridesmaids and single friends!
