Tracking The High Cost of Bad Dates
Forget about the disappointment, potential heartache and just plain boredom related to ending up on a date with someone who clearly is not a match. What about the high cost of bad dates?

This is one of the things American Express looked into on a recent survey of singles. When asked about spending on dating year-round, the survey found that many singles have blown a lot of cash on dates that did not work out. And they were more disappointed about that then the lack of chemistry.
The survey results on dating show:
-Nearly one-third of singles reported that they always or sometimes experience buyer’s remorse after a date and in fact estimate that they have spent approximately $777 on bad dates in their lifetime.
-Men have spent nearly twice as much as women on bad dates – men estimate they’ve spent $938 on bad dates in their lifetime, compared to just $475 for women.
-Sixty nine percent of singles seek ways to keep dating costs down, and top strategies include eating dinner in (44 percent), renting movies at home (35 percent) and using coupons/looking for discounts (28 percent).
Question: Wouldn't the mere idea of someone using a coupon--to take you out for a cheaper date--constitute a bad date? We think so!
