The Family Equality Council today announced the list of honorees and presenters for the organization’s 2011 awards dinner.

The event, which honors individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to helping loving families achieve equal rights, will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.

This year’s honorees include Dan Savage and Terry Miller, founders of the It Gets Better Project; Kris Perry & Sandy Stier and Paul Katami & Jeff Zarrillo, the plaintiffs from the Perry v. Schwarzenegger trial; and actor Luke MacFarlane from the ABC TV show, “Brothers & Sisters.”

Jane Lynch from the FOX TV show, “Glee” and screenwriter Dustin Lance Black will serve as presenters.

Family Equality Council Executive Director Jennifer Chrisler said the annual awards dinner is also an opportunity for LGBT parents, friends and allies to mark the progress made in helping diverse families achieve full equality. Chrisler will be introduced at the awards dinner by California Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez, a long-time supporter of LGBT families.

Proceeds from the event help sustain Family Equality Council’s educational, advocacy and policy work.
