Valentine's Day: plan it, do it

metalic heartValentine's Day in Las Vegas will be filled with couples flocking to the alters of the more than thirty chapels to exchange vows on the special day of lovers. Throughout the city, the "I do's," will fly faster than the wheels on the quarter slots.

But, it will take some planning to be sure that your license has February 14, 2006 as your anniversary date. The lines will form early and long around the Clark County Court House, open from 8 a.m. to midnight.

But you can bypass the lines and download your marriage license forms from the Clark County Clerk’s website. The internet’s open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, so you can pick up the paperwork and bypass the line. But then what fun would that be? The TV crew will be there. The chapel -hawkers will be out in force. It will be a show.

The chapels will be booked in advance, so make your plans if you have a preference. There is no need for a blood test, there is no waiting period, age is 18+, and younger persons must have parents or guardians with them.

If you have been divorced, your divorce must be final in the state where it was granted. Have proving documents with you along with your other identification.
