Memories of a Vegas wedding

Bride with bouquetIt was an Italian Vegas wedding with guests flying in from Jersey, Florida, and points between. The reception was held at the old Elks Lodge, which is now the new Cashman Field. The band consisted of the Chief of North Las Vegas Police and a few fellow officers.

It was a hot June day and the air conditioner was out at the Elks Hall. The cake melted about as fast as the marriage.

Thus the memories of Vegas wedding number two, I’ll write about those later ...

Regardless of the outcome, the memories are great.

Anyone who has experienced a Vegas wedding, whether it lasted over 50 years or as long as Britney Spears’ infamous Vegas wedding, will remember it for a lifetime.

I remember a friend marrying at "The Little Chapel of The West" by the Frontier. It was so quaint and cute for Vegas. I think the chapel is now at the end of the strip.

I had a child hood budy that was going to married and I told him I could not make the trip twice as I would be there in September or August, and he said you know she has waited for 4 years why not four more months by golly she did and we did make the trip and 29 years later they are still together and have a great family. and we have a lasting freind ship with their family and ours.

My first wedding was at the little chapel of the west in 1967 and I think that was the first location for it -

Okay, my second, fourth and fifth wedding was in Vegas, the second at the justice of the peace, fourth at St. Christopher's church in NLV and the fifth was at some chapel on the strip - Vegas was not such a lucky wedding spot for me but I know others who found it to be perfect.
