Valentine's Day 'Team Date'
Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway
No Valentine in sight?
If you are not in a relationship there is no need to go dateless on this day ordained as a time to celebrate our hearts. Have a "Valentine’s Day team date."
There is no rule that says Valentine’s Day dates are only valid with romantic partners! Call together your favorite friends, get something fabulous to wear, go to a restaurant you will all enjoy, and have a great dinner to celebrate your own hearts and friendship.
When it’s time to order dessert, go for something deliciously chocolate and take a few moments each to go around the table and share something you are all grateful for and happy about. It will bring good cheer to your gathering.
If dinner out is not for you, have your friends gather in someone’s house. Dress to bring out your inner beauty, as you would if you were out on a date. Hang out together and watch a favorite romantic movie, share some chocolate heart snacks, and afterwards, go around the room and share a special dream you have.
It can be a romantic dream, or about anything you would love to do. Put your visions into words. Or just celebrate your friendships, and look toward experiencing even more time and closeness with people you care for.
Have a great and happy Valentine’s Day!
