Study Claims Women Don't Enjoy Valentine's Day
Oy, Another Valentine's Day with more Valentine's Day survey results.
Everyone is doing surveys this February. Some are peppy and optimistic, but not all of them are that favorable about the holiday--or how it makes them feel.
A poll from the Web site HowToGetTheManOfYourDreams.com, conducted on both single and committed women, indicated that the majority of female readers are dreading the impending holiday.
-Nearly 40% responded that the worst part of Valentine’s Day was not having anyone special to share it with.
-32% of readers revealed that they didn’t appreciate being reminded that they were single.
-23% disclosed that they dreaded the inevitable disappointment in their partner’s lack of attention.
-Only 2% of respondents expressed that they loved Valentine’s Day.
“We expected that many women wouldn’t look forward to Valentine’s Day if they were single,” says Helen Park, Vice President and co-founder of How to Get the Man of Your Dreams.com. “But even women who are in relationships stated that they dreaded the holiday. Most of all, it was shocking to us that only 2% stated that they loved Valentine’s Day!”
She says her website will try to save the day by publishing articles that help women "Get What You Want from Your Man on Valentine’s Day."
Our theory is that when Valentine's Day puts too much pressure on singles and on men it is just as bad as trying to get through the winter holidays with the relatives. Why not just practice love on February 14? That may see us through.
