Heal Relationships and Life with "Peak Vitality"

For more information

Few of us enter into a committed relationship or friendship expecting it to fail, and yet sometimes even with the best of intentions, relationships do not work out to our satisfaction.

Peak Vitality.jpg

It often baffles us that someone we were once so drawn to can now get on our nerves so easily or even repel us!

So what is the answer, why does this happen? The one word answer may surprise you….Energy.

This energy surrounds us every minute of every day. We decide if our energy is that of love, kindness and encouragement or whether we emit an energy of arrogance, anger or impatience. Far too many of us have observed a family member talking harshly to another only to answer the phone in the sweetest of friendly voices.

We have the capacity to shift our energy in an instant. Our relationships vary from one to another based on our previous energy exchanges with that individual. So what can we do to shift our energy?

Prayer and meditation are two wonderful ways to get in touch with your current energy state. When we practice meditation we actually shut the mind down and allow a feeling of calmness and peace to enter our energy field. .

I Loved 27 Dresses!

CATEGORIZED AS: Must See , Reviews

By Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway
Editor, Wedlok.com

My 16 year old son gave me a great gift last week. He agreed to sit through over 2 hours of a pure chick-flick wedding movie just to K.M.H. (Keep Mommy Happy).

Kathryn Heigel.jpg

Oh, and I was so happy! As a journalist who covers weddings and as a wedding officiant who officiates them, this movie really hit home for me. I know people panned it ... but those people must have been people who hate weddings. It just is not a guy flick or a movie for non-romantics.

Wedding mavens like me, brides, bridesmaids and anyone who has anything to do with weddings will love 27 Dresses. It is all about that special passion we have for honoring brides and making a bride's day all she wants it to be.

Sound sappy? I make no apologies.

Starring Kathryn Heigl and James Marsden, 27 Dresses tells the story of a beautiful and giving young woman who is devoted (and,ok, somewhat addicted) to weddings and serving brides, and a cynical journalist who writes the wedding column for a major metropolitan newspaper in New York.

Will You Marry Me? Fun Way To Pop The Question

CATEGORIZED AS: Reviews

Thinking of popping the question this Valentine's Day or anytime soon? Try doing it with this cool book.

marrymecover.jpg

Will You Marry Me: Seven Centuries of Love (Touchstone Hardcover; January 8, 2008) contains love letters from the Gothic to Victorian Era and is a fun read.

Boy, they don't make proposals like they used to!

These days grooms put their promises of love up in neon lights and plan lavish proposal scenerios. In the "old days" suitors wrote letters asking for the hand of their beloved. Sometimes they sent these requests by messenger or riders on horseback. Sometimes the bride did not know who the heck the potential groom was.

Helen Scheu-Riesz edited the collection and originally published it in 1940. The subtitle of the first version was "Proposals of the Famous and Infamous" because it also contains a few historically creepy suitors.

The book was revived and republished by Simon and Schuster this month on January 8.

You won't recognize all the names but the proposals are fun to read anyway. They include pledges of love from:

Samuel Parr (colonist, minister, judge in the Salem witch trials) to Jane Morgingale: "Madam, You are a very charming woman, and I would be happy to obtain you as my wife." She said yes.

John Hervey to Elizabether Felton: "To make thee happy shall be the sole drift & constant meditation of my soul."

Prince William of Prussia to Princess Augusta of Saxe-Weimar: “I can scarcely describe to Your Highness the excitement which fills my heart at this moment when I take my pen in hand to make the most important move of my life.”

You will be enchanted by "Enchanted"

See the trailer

We loved this movie!

It is one of the funniest, sweetest, most inspiring romantic comedies we've seen in a long time.

Not only does it treat us to a classic a Disney love story with a modern twist, and fine acting (Amy Adams rocks as the Princess-to-be), it is set in some of the most romantic spots in New York City.

Enchanted- Central Park.jpg

In the multiple scenes filmed in Central Park, we recognized all our favorite spots for weddings! Bridal Bridge. Bethesda Fountain. Belvadere Castle. And many spots near (and even in a boat on) the Central Park Lake.

Central Park weddings are always so romantic and it was so awesome to see all those favorite spots so magically alive with singing and dancing.

The Princess-to-Be and her New York Prince (Patrick Dempsey) even dance with a dozen or so Brides and Grooms in the park. Ah, felt like wedding season!

It left us with such a happy, upbeat feeling -- just the way we feel officiating at weddings in Central Park.

Will Things Get Ugly on "Ugly Betty" as Wilhelmina Walks Down the Aisle

CATEGORIZED AS: Must See , Reviews

You are cordially invited to the hottest wedding of the (television) season.

venessa williams wedding.jpg

Tonight, Vanessa Williams, as Wilhelmina Slater, steps into her Vera Wang wedding gown and walks down the aisle with her mogul hubby-to-be Bradford Meade on Ugly Betty on ABC.

But will he be her hubby?

After sleeping with a security guard and scheming her way to the top, chances are do-gooder Betty (who happened to be under the bed when Wilhelmina jumped the security guard) may also walk down the aisle, to speak now about why they should not be joined.

The network would not release a review copy of the show, but it promises drama, Ugly Betty style, and great comedy!

Special guests include Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, as herself, and Vera Wang, who designed the dresses for both stars.
